About
I’m a freshman student filmmaker studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
i direct films, write screenplays and poems, dabble in photography, and sing (at least whenever my rhinitis isn’t flaring up).
“I’m not the smartest kid in the grade. I never was, and I never will be.”
“I’m not the best student filmmaker. I never was, but I want to be.”
These are the words from my self-intro video I submitted to NYU back in 2024. They still hold up perfectly well today.
Ever since college began, I quickly realized how high the ceiling is, and how far behind the starting line I am, not only in this industry, but also in this very cohort, compared to my very peers.
Sure, I've never been one to harbor envy for high-achievers and go-getters, which NYU has plenty, but the pressure is, still, undeniably on my shoulders.
Then it dawned on me:
If speed is not my strength -- x films in y years, c crews in d months -- then why not take it slow?
So I don’t chase volume. I’m happy with what I have -- a pretty decent (and growing) portfolio for a guy who spent 10 years of his childhood trying to become a stage actor, and only turned towards filmmaking 3 years ago.
Slowly, I found my own path, followed my own faith, and formed my own voice.
I love creating, even if the end products are not always what Hollywood wants. I don’t create for anyone, not even myself.
I create because creating is what I was created to do.
“Devo, voglio, e posso,” as I learned in Italian class.
I create because I must, I want to, and I can.
